Necrobinder Minion Sacrifice Build — Best Cards & Relics

Minion Sacrifice is the Necrobinder’s most visceral build — you summon undead minions, let them absorb damage and deal chip damage for a few turns, then Sacrifice them for devastating Burst effects. Each minion death triggers Rotting Giant’s block scaling. Each Sacrifice heals you and draws cards. The build plays like a horror movie where you’re the monster.
Build Overview
The gameplay Loop: Raise Dead puts a 10 HP zombie into play → the zombie Tanks hits and deals 4 damage per turn → when it’s low on HP, Sacrifice it for 25 damage and 10 block → Rotting Giant gains permanent scaling from the death → Death March refills your board with fresh minions.
Unlike the Regent’s allies, Necrobinder minions are disposable. You don’t protect them — you use them up.
Minion Sacrifice
Core Cards
Strategy
Summon minions with Raise Dead and Skeletal Horde. Use minions to block and chip damage for 2-3 turns. Sacrifice low-HP minions for burst damage and block. Rotting Giant gains permanent block per minion death. Bone Barrier uses minion corpses for massive defense. Death March refills the board. The cycle: summon → block → sacrifice → repeat.
Core Cards
Raise Dead — Summon a Zombie with 10 HP. Deals 4 damage per turn. Costs 1. Your basic summon. Draft 2-3 copies. The Zombie is fragile but efficient — it’ll take 1-2 hits and deal 4-8 damage before dying or being Sacrificed.
Skeletal Horde — Summon 3 Skeletons. Each has 5 HP and deals 3 damage per turn. Costs 3. Best when you have an empty board. Three bodies means three Sacrifice targets and nine passive damage per turn.
Sacrifice — Destroy a minion. Deal damage equal to its remaining HP × 3. If the minion had 8 HP, deal 24 damage. Your primary Finisher. Upgrade for ×4 multiplier.
Bone Barrier — Destroy a minion. Gain block equal to its max HP. A 10-HP Zombie gives 10 block. A 20-HP Rotting Giant gives 20 block. Emergency defense on demand.
Rotting Giant — Summon a Giant minion with 30 HP. Whenever ANY minion dies, gain +3 block and the Giant gains +2 damage permanently. The more minions you Sacrifice, the stronger the Giant becomes. Your scaling engine.
Death March — All minions attack immediately, then summon 2 Zombies. Triggers every minion’s attack out of sequence for a Burst damage turn. The 2 fresh Zombies refill your board for the next cycle.
Key Relics
Phylactery — The first minion Sacrificed each combat is revived next turn. Free minion every fight. Sacrifice your best minion, get it back for free.
Grave Dirt — Summoned minions have +5 HP. Zombies go from 10 to 15 HP. More HP = more damage when Sacrificed = more block from Bone Barrier.
Sacrificial Blade — Whenever you Sacrifice a minion, gain 1 Strength for the rest of combat. With 4 Sacrifices per fight, that’s +4 Strength compounding with your attacks.
Soul Jar — Harvested souls provide double bonus. Minion kills in elite fights generate souls with double the buff value.
Necromancer’s Ring — Start combat with a Zombie already in play. Free Sacrifice target from turn 1.
Act Strategy
Act 1
Goal: Draft Raise Dead and at least one Sacrifice effect. Build the summon-Sacrifice Loop.
Pick priority: Raise Dead > Sacrifice > Bone Shard > Soul Tap > Shadow Strike.
One Raise Dead and one Sacrifice gets you through Act 1. The Zombie Tanks hits while you chip with attacks. Sacrifice it when it’s at 3-4 HP for maximum value.
Act 2
Goal: Add Skeletal Horde and Rotting Giant. Establish the scaling engine.
Pick priority: Rotting Giant > Skeletal Horde > Bone Barrier > Raise Dead (more copies).
Rotting Giant is your Act 2 priority. The earlier you get it, the more minion deaths it scales from. A Giant that’s been in play since floor 1 of Act 2 will have +20 damage by the boss.
Act 3
Goal: Add Death March and Finishers. Deck should have 6-8 summon/Sacrifice cards.
Pick priority: Death March > Sacrifice (upgrade) > Bone Barrier > Raise Dead.
Death March is your boss killer. With 5 minions on board, Death March triggers all their attacks (that’s 20-30 damage) and summons 2 fresh Zombies for the next cycle.
Common Pitfalls
Sacrificing at full HP — Don’t Sacrifice a full-HP Zombie. Let it Tank, deal damage, and drop to 2-4 HP, then Sacrifice it. The damage multiplier (×3 or ×4) only matters on remaining HP — but you waste the minion’s passive damage if you Sacrifice immediately.
Empty board, no summons in hand — If all your minions die and you have no Raise Dead, you’re taking full damage to face. Keep at least one summon card in hand at all times.
Rotting Giant dying — The Giant has 30 HP, which seems like a lot, but enemies focus the largest minion. Protect it with Bone Barrier or keep a backup summon. Losing a fully-scaled Giant is devastating.
Over-reliance on Death March — Death March is a Burst card, not a build-around. If it’s your only way to trigger minions, you’re too slow. Have Sacrifice and Bone Barrier for non-March turns.
